Testimonials

Hi, My name is Troy Bogert.

I have been surfing for 25 years, played football for 6 years and played rugby for 10 years. Needless to say I love western sports, and as a result of my passions I have done extensive damage to my body.

I recently sustained a major injury to my right knee with the following results: partial tear to my PCL ligiment, partially torn meniscus, cracked tibia as well as major trauma to the surrounding tissues. Actually my knee was so damaged that the three doctors that I saw before my surgery said I would be lucky to regain 60% of what my knee was before the accident.

Fast forward 6 months and my knee was right were the doctors said it would be at about 60% and very stiff and sore. I was very frustrated because I was doing all the physical therapy and was not able to achieve results which were acceptable to me.

Fortunately, Dan had just returned from Thailand with with an amazing "technology" that has proven to be nothing short of a miracle for me. He did two lower body sessions and after the first time my knee showed a 20% improvement, I just 1 hour!!! After the second session and some specific exercises that he had me doing everyday I was feeling much much better.

I went to the doctor for my final follow up and he was shocked at my recovery. In just 2 months after working with Dan I had achieved a 95% recovery. I now am able to surf regularly and put my knee in crouching positions that I feared I would never be able to do again. The treatment has corrected my injury.

A few months later, Dan treated an extremely painful back injury that was preventing me from bending over. After a 40 minute session, the pain was gone and I was able to do a full forward bend with my legs straight and my nose almost on my knees.

ONE WORD: Phenomenal. You need to experience this to really know what I am talking about. Everyone can benefit from this. Every part of you body can benefit from this.

Thanks Dan, you ARE the man!!

My name is Steven Ness, and I am a 29 year male who has recently recovered from the discomfort associated with chronic back pain and sciatica. Approximately 7 years ago, I injured my lower back while doing heavy squats. The injury initially forced me to remain in a hunch-backed position for a period of several days, until I finally “straightened out” and felt that I was ready to continue my weightlifting routine despite slightly recurring lower back pain.

After 7 years of ignoring this injury, my body finally responded in a definitive manner, and symptoms of sciatica started to set in. Such symptoms included leg weakness and numbness, burning and stinging down my hamstrings, and of course severe soreness in the lumbar area of my back. Most people and medical professionals I talked to suggested that I probably had a herniated disk, and that surgery on my spine was undeniably necessary. In fact, I was diagnosed with having 2 herniated discs in the L4-L5 and L5-S1 regions of my lumbar spine. My physical future looked bleak.

Determined to solve the problem without subjecting myself to surgery, I began searching for alternative methods of treatment that might help me remedy the problem conservatively. After a late night searching the web, I landed upon Daniel Carr’s kung-fu web site and read his page concerning back injury and rehabilitation through Yoga and other modalities. Figuring that I had nothing to lose by talking with Daniel, I called him up and made an appointment to meet him privately for an evaluation.

I have to admit that I was skeptical about meeting Daniel at first, since I had taken conventional yoga classes before that had proven to exacerbate my injury instead of relieving it. However, contrary to all preconceived expectations, my first meeting with Daniel was very encouraging as he taught me very simple breathing techniques that immediately provided me with a high-level of relief. I began working with Daniel on a full time basis the following week.

After 2 months of a simple program consisting of simple Yoga postures, breathing techniques, and massage therapy provided by Daniel, I was completely free of any lower back pain and felt as if I had finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. By gradually adding the practice of Tai Chi and basic Kung Fu principles to my program, I have strengthened my back to a level that I have never experienced before, and have increased my flexibility to a point I never thought possible. In addition, and most importantly, I have learnt a regiment of exercise that will allow me to heal my injuries myself, without worrying about surgery and other frightening propositions.

Through the aid of Daniel's expert and calculated instruction, I am on the record to complete recovery and physical health. If you have any questions regarding my experiences with Daniel, please feel free to contact me at the e-mail address provided below.

Daniel,

I still feel great! Thank you. The massage was incredible. The next day I woke up with tremendous vitality. I felt a whole new level of openness when doing Tai Chi. Patricia said all week that I looked noticeably younger. I had a number of deliveries last week that involved lifting and carrying large heavy boxes that would normally cause me pain and take a day or two of intense practice to get over. This time there was no pain.

I genuinely feel like the injury or condition that was always hanging over me waiting to strike is pretty much gone. Patricia is insisting that I get another one the next time you come to town. I'm all for it. Perhaps next time we can split up the time so that I can learn by working on you. I really respect and appreciate your skill.

I also had the confidence of knowing that with your Kung Fu expertise you know what pressure points to avoid that might cause injury or death. It's amazing that you can apply that much pressure and heal instead of hurt. There were a couple of times when you were stretching me that I was certain that muscles would soon be tearing apart from the bones. Instead, though, I would suddenly experience a release of tension, sometimes in an area away from the part being stretched. I still can't get over how good it felt and how good I still feel.

I have recommended you to some of my friends, family and colleagues. You should be receiving copies of the emails I sent them. Hope you don't mind. I look forward to your next trip here. Thanks again.
